Contents of the Data Vault
Welcome to the Data Vault. Here you will find information about how to access raw and calibrated data, images, previously proposed observations, and published findings from observations made with NRAO telescopes.
Cassiopeia A is the remnant of a supernova explosion that occured over 300 years ago in our Galaxy, at a distance of about 11,000 light years from us. (Credit: NRAO/AUI).
The NRAO Data Archive currently contains:
- VLA/VLBA. All raw VLA data from the present going back to 1976 (5.2 TB), all raw VLBA data going back to May 1997 (15 TB), some calibrated VLBA data going back to Sept 1993 (13 TB). Efforts to expand the raw data VLBA on-line archive back to 1994 are underway.
- GBT. The Data Vault currently contains GBT raw data from projects starting in the first trimester of 2001 through the end of 2005. Efforts are underway to expand the raw data GBT on-line archive to all recent data, up to and including data collected daily.
- 12m (Tucson) and 140ft (Green Bank) Telescopes. Although these telescopes are no longer operational, a significant amount of data is still available. These data sets are currently being prepared for accessibility through the Data Vault.
The image archive consists of over 125,000 images drawn entirely from VLA and VLBA survey projects, and the following surveys:
