AAS Splinter Session
Proposing for NRAO Instruments
American Astronomical Society 223rd meeting - Washington, DC |
Hosted by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) scientific staff, this Splinter Session is designed to assist members of the astronomical community, especially new users, who are interested in proposing observations with NRAO telescopes: the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), Green Bank Telescope (GBT), Very Large Array (VLA), and Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA).
The Session will open with an introduction that will describe NRAO telescope capabilities and the proposing process. This will be followed by a hands-on session to work on ALMA, GBT, VLA, and/or VLBA observing proposals using your own laptop. NRAO scientific staff will be available to assist and answer questions.
To assist NRAO in planning for this Splinter Session, we encourage participants to register by 4 January 2014, prior to the AAS meeting. A form to pre-register is available here. There is no charge for registration, and registration is not required to attend.
