A Practical Approach....

The intent of this workshop is provide practical information on how to successfully propose and reduce ALMA observations. This workshop is geared towards all Canadian astronomers, not just experts in radio astronomer or interferometry.

Workshop Goals

Workshop Goals

  1. 1.To prepare all Canadian astronomers for observations with ALMA.

  2. 2.To provide an update on the full and early science capabilities of ALMA.

  3. 3.To provide practical information on how to plan and execute ALMA observations in a way that non-experts can understand.

  4. 4.To begin discussions of Canadian ALMA science projects & foster collaborations.

  5. 5.To introduce the ALMA data reduction software (CASA) and provide hands-on demonstrations of its use.
