ADASS 2026
ADASS XXXVI
Astronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems Conference Series
1-5 November, 2026
Perth, Australia
We invite you to the 36th annual conference on Astronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems. The conference will be held November 1-5, 2025 in Perth and hosted by the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) on the University of Western Australia Campus. The LOC is also supported by the SKAO, AusSRC and CSIRO as well as Data Central to host the IVOA Interop.
This annual conference, hosted by a different institution each year, is a forum for astronomers, computer scientists, software engineers, faculty members and students working in areas related to algorithms, software and systems for the acquisition, reduction, analysis, and dissemination of astronomical data.
The ADASS XXXVI program will include invited talks, contributed papers, tutorials, software demonstrations, and special interest ("Birds of a Feather" or BoF) meetings. These activities aim to stimulate further development of software and systems to meet the data science challenges of astronomy.
Registration and abstract submissions are not open at this time. More information will be shared with you when the systems are up.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in proposing and voting for this year's themes. The POC and LOC selected the themes with guidance from the poll. ADASS topics span the universe; key themes focus but do not limit abstract submissions. As you can see, AI was so popular that we had to identify subcategories. The key themes for ADASS XXXV are:
* AI as a tool for data discovery and data management
* AI as tool for scientific discovery
* AI as tool for software engineering
* Building and operating science platforms and workflows in the Petabyte Era
* Usability, accessibility and security in astronomy software
* The art of collaboration in astronomy software development
* Global data management and lifecycle in the exascale era.
The International Virtual Observatory Alliance (IVOA) meeting will be held immediately after ADASS, 6th to 8th of November at Curtin University. Further details will be provided by the IVOA on their web pages (ivoa.net).
