Date: March 30, 2018
Time: 12:30pm - 5:00pm
Location: RM 665, Van Allen Hall, University of Iowa

The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) and ALMA Ambassadors cordially invite you to an ALMA Proposal Workshop at University of Iowa on March 30th, 2018. This event is designed for all astronomers interested in preparing the ALMA Cycle 6 proposal, the ALMA-related science, or radio interferometry in general, even for those who do not regularly utilize radio data in their research.

The half-day workshop will provide an overview of the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array, including the new capabilities in Cycle 6, a guide for the proposal preparation and submission process, and a hands-on session about the proposing tool for the upcoming ALMA Cycle 6 deadline on April 19th, 2018. Finally, we will dive into some interferometric demo data taken with ALMA, and use CASA to reduce and analyze them.

Registration is free, but we'd appreciate it if you could sign up before March 27th. Attendance will be limited due to space constraints, and we encourage you to register as early as possible (even you only plan to participate specific parts of the event). We especially encourage participation from students and junior postdocs.

Look forward to seeing you at the University of Iowa!

-Rui Xue (ALMA Ambassador)
