ALMA Cycle 9 Proposal Preparation Workshop at the University of Maryland

NRAO Live! Event at the University of Wisconsin in Madison

Date: March 29, 2022
Time: 9am - 5pm (EDT)
Location: UMD, College Park

The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) and ALMA Ambassadors cordially invite you to an ALMA Proposal Preparation Workshop. This event is designed for all astronomers, from seasoned ALMA users to those who do not regularly utilize radio data in their research or have no radio background. We encourage participation from graduate students and junior postdocs, but we welcome astronomers at all levels of experience. The one-day workshop will provide an overview of ALMA, including new Cycle 9 capabilities, an introduction to mm interferometry, and an overview of the proposal preparation and submission process. Talks will be given in the morning, followed by a hands-on proposal preparation session in the afternoon for the upcoming ALMA Cycle 9 deadline.

The workshop will be held in a hybrid in-person and virtual format, with the workshop broadcast on Zoom for virtual participants. Recordings will be made available following the workshop. Owing to COVID-19 safety protocols, in-person participation will be limited to 15 individuals. At this time, in-person attendees will be required to wear a face mask.

Note: At this time we are at capacity for in-person participation. All future registrations  requesting in-person attendance will be added to a wait list.

Talks will be tailored to the needs and science goals of registered participants, so please register early and let us know what you're interested to hear! Registration is free.

We look forward to seeing you in-person and online!
