Event Overview
The National Astronomy Consortium (NAC) student program features a cohort-based, year-long student research experience for undergrads. The NAC program is designed to broaden participation in 'full-spectrum' astronomy for underrepresented and under-served students. Our NAC students spend their summers at one of our partner sites, working with mentors on a research project, and forming bonds with their fellow cohort members.
The NAC VII meeting is a key component of the NAC experience, and is designed to bring the current year's cohort of students together to:
- share their research with their peers, the NAC mentors, and invited guests
- meet with influential professionals in the field of astronomy, including scientists, program managers from important national funding agencies, and representatives from observatories and professional organizations
- strengthen peer, mentor, and professional relationships
This year, the NAC VI workshop will feature:
- A networking reception
- 2019 NAC VII Cohort presentations
- "Alumni Voices" featuring NAC Alums
- and more...
