Logistics

Greetings, & Welcome to the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory!

We look forward to your participation in the NRAO Community Day Event
Wednesday and Thursday, June 3 and 4, 2020
9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Venue:

Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory (DRAO)
717 White Lake Rd, Kaleden, BC V0H 1K0, Canada

The event will be held in the Arthur Covington Seminar Room.

Airport:

The nearest airport to DRAO, and the most convenient one, is the Penticton Regional Airport (YYF). Early reservations recommended to minimize air fair.

We would like to highly encourage everybody to fly to Penticton (YYF) and not to Kelowna (YLW), in particular if you do not plan to rent a car. Public transportation from Kelowna airport to Penticton is slow and expensive. It is about 1.5 hour drive from Kelowna to Penticton.

Hotels:

There will be a block reservation in a hotel in Penticton. Details will be posted on this page.

Note: DRAO will not contact the participants for hotel reservations. Hence, please stay alert for potential scams.

Transportation:

DRAO will provide transportation from the hotel to the meeting venue and back on the two days of the event. Details will be posted on this page.

Cell phones:

We ask that you turn off your cell phones while visiting DRAO.
