The City of Charlottesville is located in west Central Virginia, approximately 100 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. and 70 miles northwest of Richmond, Virginia at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The meeting will be held at the NRAO Headquarters at 520 Edgemont Road on the grounds of the University of Virginia. The hotels are within 2 miles of NRAO. Attendees are encouraged to carpool, ride the free trolley or walk. Limited parking is available.

Directions from Area Hotels to NRAO
Important note when using GPS or web-based directions: McCormick Road is closed to through-traffic for much of the work day. When traveling from your hotel to NRAO, please use these directions.
Transportation
Charlottesville is accessible via the Charlottesville Airport (CHO). Washington Dulles and Richmond International Airports are within 100 miles each. In addition, Amtrak runs daily trains from Washington, DC and New York City.
Hotel Accommodations

- Best Western Cavalier Inn - located near the University.
- Marriott Residence Inn - Accommodations include a kitchen. The Inn is located behind the Barracks Road Shopping Center, an outdoor mall that has two large grocery stores, a health food store and a number of restaurants.
- Red Roof Inn - Located on The Corner at the University of Virginia. Easy access to restaurants and pubs, with free bus service to the Downtown Mall.
- Courtyard Charlottesville - UVA Medical Center - located within walking distance of the UVA Grounds
