The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) and ALMA Ambassadors cordially invite you to an ALMA Proposal Workshop at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. This event is designed for all astronomers, especially those who do not regularly utilize radio data in their research. We particularly encourage participation from graduate students and junior postdocs. The one-day workshop will provide an overview of ALMA including new capabilities, a brief discussion of mm interferometry basics, and an overview of the proposal preparation and submission processes. A large portion of the time will be dedicated to hands-on tutorials to prepare proposals for the upcoming April 15 ALMA Cycle 8 deadline. We will also dive into imaging and simulation of ALMA interferometric data using CASA. Lunch will be provided for registered participants.

Registration is free, but note that the number of attendees is limited. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could sign up before February 28th so that I have an accurate count for lunches.
