Arriving by air: 
The nearest airport is Aeropuerto Desierto de Atacama (CPO). At the airport, travelers will find several transfer options to Copiapó (around CLP 10,000 on average).

Arriving by bus from another city: 
There are several bus terminals in Copiapó. We recommend arriving at one of the terminals located downtown, for example near Chañarcillo 680, used by companies such as Turbus, Cóndor, and Expreso Norte, or near Colipi 114, served by Pullman. Another terminal, Terrapuerto Atacama, is about a 5min Uber ride from the city center (Plaza de Armas de Copiapó, ~2,500 CLP) and 5min ride from UDA (~3,500 CLP). A bus trip to Copiapó costs between CLP 15,000–25,000 (one way) from La Serena, and CLP 30,000–50,000 (one way) from cities such as Antofagasta, Calama, Iquique, and Arica.

The Red Movilidad app allows you to identify the bus lines ("micros") that reach the campus (CLP 500 per ticket). Shared taxis ("colectivos") within Copiapó cost on average CLP 1,000–2,000. .

The NSF National Radio Astronomy Observatory and NSF Green Bank Observatory are facilities of the U.S. National Science Foundation operated under cooperative agreement by Associated Universities, Inc.

Founded in 1956, the NSF NRAO provides state-of-the-art radio telescope facilities for use by the international scientific community. NSF NRAO telescopes are open to all astronomers regardless of institutional or national affiliation. Observing time on NSF NRAO telescopes is available on a competitive basis to qualified scientists after evaluation of research proposals on the basis of scientific merit, the capability of the instruments to do the work, and the availability of the telescope during the requested time. NSF NRAO also provides both formal and informal programs in education and public outreach for teachers, students, the general public, and the media.
