Logistics

Greetings, & Welcome to the University of Toronto!

We look forward to your participation in the NRAO-LBO Community Day Event
Monday and Tuesday, June 4 and 5, 2018
9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Venue: University of Toronto, St. George Campus. The room number is 219 Wallberg Building, 200 College St. (at St. George St.)

Hotels:

 On Campus Summer Housing:

  • New College Residences: 3 possible locations (all next door/nearby each other), 50$/night single room, 75$/night  double rooms.

Parking/Transit:

Parking is generally expensive and hard to find for the U of Toronto St. George campus; we do not recommend driving/parking.

Transit is readily available in the form of buses, streetcars, and trains. Train tickets can be bought at the station, bus tokens can be bought from many places (campus bookstore, 7/11, etc). Check ttc.ca for information on routes and fares.

All of the above mentioned accommodations (and those in similar vicinity) are within 10-25 minute walk to campus/workshop venue.

Getting Here:

  • Airports:
    • Pearson International - YYZ, main airport about ~45 minutes from downtown. From the airport to downtown can take cab/uber and it will cost ~50-60$ (going back to the airport via Uber may be cheaper). There is the UP express train which runs from Union Station to the airport and takes about 25/30 minutes and is 12$ one way, or buses (for info see ttc.ca).
    • Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport: much smaller airport located near downtown on Toronto islands. There is a pedestrian tunnel, a ferry, or airport shuttle for getting to and from downtown/the airport.
  • Trains:
    • Amtrak has service to nearby cities (e.g. York, ON). The trains arrive at Union Station which connects directly to the ttc subway line.
