Hotel and Travel Information
The City of Charlottesville is located in west Central Virginia, approximately 100 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. and 70 miles northwest of Richmond, Virginia at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The meeting will be held at the NRAO Headquarters at 520 Edgemont Road on the grounds of the University of Virginia. The Cavalier Inn is about 1 mile away from NRAO. Attendees are encouraged to carpool. Limited parking is available.

Directions from Area Hotels to NRAO
Important note when using GPS or web-based directions: McCormick Road is closed to through-traffic for much of the work day. When traveling from your hotel to NRAO, please use these directions.
Transportation
Charlottesville is accessible via the Charlottesville Airport (CHO). Washington Dulles and Richmond International Airports are within 100 miles each. In addition, Amtrak runs daily trains from Washington, DC and New York City.
Hotel Accommodations
Reservations will be made on your behalf at the Residence Inn of Charlottesville. The rate includes a full, hot breakfast buffet. You may be asked for a credit card to guarantee the room, but be assured that the NAASC/NRAO will be direct billed for your room expenses. Please confirm your arrival and departure dates before April 1st; after this date, neither availability nor the reduced rate can be guaranteed.
