Date: 21 March 2024
Time: 08:30am - 5:30pm
Location: "The Showroom", NASA Ames Conference Center

The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) and ALMA Ambassadors cordially invite you to an ALMA Proposal Workshop at the NASA Ames Conference Center. This event is designed for all astronomers, and in particular for those who do not regularly utilize radio / millimeter data in their research. The one-day (virtual and in-person) workshop will provide an overview of ALMA including new capabilities, a brief discussion of mm interferometry, and an overview of the proposal preparation and submission processes. In the afternoon there will be a hands-on session to prepare proposals for the upcoming ALMA Cycle 11 deadline (April 25th).

Catered lunch will be provided for registered participants, and attendance for the full day is not required but highly recommended. Registration is free and please sign up by March 13th so that I have an accurate count for lunch, and so I can better cater the agenda to suit your needs.

A valid ID (passport for foreign nationals) is necessary to enter NASA Ames. All car drivers will also need to show a driver’s license (it can be the only ID needed). We ask for attendees from NASA designated countries (https://www.nasa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/designated-country-list-final-12.11.23.pdf?emrc=e501a1) to attend online.

I look forward to seeing you at NASA Ames!

- Valentin Le Gouellec (ALMA Ambassador)

All attendees are expected to abide by the NRAO Code of Conduct.
