How to prepare for the workshop

To follow the hands-on sessions, please bring your own laptop (preferably with Linux or macOS) and a charger.

Before the workshop, please make sure to download and install the following software:
• CASA: https://casa.nrao.edu/casa_obtaining.shtml (CASA version 6.6.1.17, Pipeline 2024.1.0.8)
• CARTA: https://cartavis.org/#download (version 6.0, stand-alone application recommended)
How to reach the workshop venue (for in-person participants)
The workshop will be held in the auditorium of the Departamento de Astronomía at the Universidad de Concepción (UdeC).

From Santiago to Concepción:
• By bus: It takes about 5 hours by bus from the Alameda Bus Terminal (Santiago) to the Collao Bus Terminal (Concepción). Several companies operate this route, including Turbus, Pullman, Cóndor, Romani, and FlixBus. A one-way ticket costs approximately 20,000 CLP. From the Collao Bus Terminal, you can take micro lines 22, 21, or 14 and get off at the "Arco Universidad de Concepción" stop.
• By plane: Direct flights from Santiago (SCL) to Concepción Carriel Sur Airport (CCP) are operated daily by LATAM and SKY, with a flight time of approximately 1 hour. For travelers with only a personal item (backpack), round-trip fares are typically around 50,000–80,000 CLP when booked in advance. From Carriel Sur Airport, the Concepción city center can be reached by taxi or Uber for around 10,000 CLP.
