The Complex Behavior of Novae at Radio Wavelengths
Abstract
Classical novae are some of the most common and earliest known Galactic transient events. The recent discovery of GeV gamma-ray emission from these inherently low-energy explosions has rekindled interest in studying classical novae at all wavelengths. Radio observations have proven exceptionally valuable to uncovering the complex nature of nova eruptions and developing models for accelerating particles to high energies via shocks in the ejecta. I will present a summary of the contributions radio observations have made to our current understanding of classical novae and share some of our most recent results from the VLA and VLBA.
