Travel to Green Bank

The Green Bank Observatory is located about 200 miles west of Dulles International Airport (IAD), about 4 hours door-to-door by car.  It is generally the most convenient airport to use as smaller more nearby airports have fewer flight options and are more affected by vagaries of weather. Other airport options are Pittsburgh (PIT) and Charlottesville, VA (CHO).

We plan to provide van transportation from IAD to Green Bank on Sunday with a return trip to IAD on Wednesday after the meeting (and perhaps also on Thursday morning depending on demand).   If you would like to share a ride from the airport, please fill out your flight information on this Google-doc.

If you are driving please see the map below. Because of recent construction, we recommend Option 1 when traveling from the Washington DC area or the Northeast US.
