This conference is designed to highlight and explore the novel scientific opportunities that will unfold with the unprecedented angular resolution and sensitivity capabilities offered by this new facility.
A variety of oral presentations and posters will be featured, with a special focus on the new science that will be possible at high angular resolution; the ngVLA will allow, for the first time, the detection of thermal emission at 1 mas angular scales, as well as unprecedented high fidelity imaging of non-thermal emission on scales less than 1 mas. Researchers within and beyond radio astronomy expertise are invited to engage in discussions, share insights, and start to plan the groundbreaking science that the ngVLA will make possible. We particularly encourage the participation of early-career scientists, who will be the major users of this observatory.
Abstracts for contributed oral presentations will be considered until July 8, 2024
==>> !!! UPDATE !!! July 29, 2024 <<==
The program will be announced by August 15, 2024.
Contributed abstracts not selected for an oral presentation will be optionally assigned to present a poster. Abstracts for poster presentations will be accepted until September 1, 2024. Poster presenters will have the opportunity to present 1 digital summary-slide advertising their poster during the meeting, besides the time provided for poster viewing. All poster presenters, regardless of attendance preference, will have the opportunity to upload a PDF version of their poster on our digital platform in advance of the conference dates.
We are soliciting abstracts for both oral and poster presentations around the following key ngVLA Science Working Groups (SWGs):
- SWG1: Stars, Planetary Systems, and their Origins
- SWG2: Astrochemistry and the Molecular Emergence of Life
- SWG3: Galaxies and Galaxy Evolution
- SWG4: Pulsars, Cosmology, and Fundamental Physics
- SWG5: Exploring the Dynamic Universe
In addition to the topics listed above, we welcome abstracts that may not easily fit into one of these sub-fields, but are of interest within the overall topic of the meeting. For such abstracts, the authors should list their topic as "Other."
