Title
Defining the AGN Zoo
Abstract
AGNs offer a significant dynamic channel for heavy stellar mass binary black hole (BBH) mergers with a guaranteed electromagnetic (EM) counterpart. However, modern time domain surveys are revealing a variety of EM phenomena associated with AGN accretion disks that are difficult to distinguish from such BBH events. In this talk, I will review the current state of the AGN Zoo - how good are we at detecting, characterizing, and categorizing the different possible types of beast to be found in these intense environments - and discuss future prospects for improvement.
