Workshop Internet Access

Wireless Internet Access

Wireless internet is available on the New Mexico Tech campus.  An account will be created for each participant of the workshop.  Upon arrival you will be given a user name and password for wireless access.

Once you have been given your user name and password you will continue through the following process:

  1. Make sure you connected to NMT-UNENCRYPTED-WEB-LOGIN.
  • Make sure that your wireless card is turned on.
    • You may have to go in to System Preferences.
    • Network Connections.
    • And enable your wireless card.
  • To check what network you are on.
    • Find your network connection icon
      • Windows Vista/7:
        • Most of the time in the bottom right hand corner (you may have to expand your system icons)
        • Or if there is no icon go to: Start/Control Panel/Network and Sharing Center. It should say at the top center what network you are on
      • Mac OSX:
        • Most of the time top right corner should look like a dot with 3-4 curved lines going up
        • Or in your System Preferences under Networking
      • Linux: top right corner should look like a dot with 3-4 curved lines going up
  • Type your user name in to the Username field.
  • Type your password in to the Password field.
  • Click the button that says Login.
  • You may have to open and new tab/window to access the internet.
  • Log out when you are finished.
  • Connect with NRAO
