New Capabilities

OPT Suite version 1.37 released 2026 April 1st

Known Issues

Subarray Scheduling Blocks

  • Interactive editing of loops in subarrays (cut/copy/paste/move in the SB tree) may cause unexpected issues. Please contact the NRAO Science Helpdesk for guidance if problems are encountered.

Improvements

Observation Preparation Tool (OPT)

Scheduling Block (SB)

Information tab

  • Corrected the issue with the Find LST Start Range button when the count was greater than one.

Static Report tab

  • Users can now display and edit the assumed start time in UTC.
  • Added Azimuth vs Elevation polar plot of sources used in the SB. This plot is generated for a defined assumed start time in LST or UTC.

Dynamic LST Validation tab

  • Antenna shadowing information has been added (applicable to D and C-configuration observations).
  • Evaluators are now grouped alphabetically.

Subarrays

  • Each subarray will show the total duration. This will allow users to see when a subarray is a different length.

Source Catalog Tool (SCT)

Images tab of a source

  • Added Azimuth vs Elevation polar plot of the selected source at the VLA.

Resource Catalog Tool (RCT)

  • Added ability to download and save search results.
