New Capabilities

OPT suite version 1.36 released 2025June16

Note the following new features.

OPT

Program Block (PB) Improvements

  • Table of SBs now lists the earliest and latest UT start dates (as defined in the Information tab of an SB). If the earliest and latest UT start dates have passed, the table will indicate they have expired. This means the Observation Scheduling Tool (OST) will not schedule the SB.
  • Ability to hide/view SBs based on status.

Scheduling Block (SB) Improvements

  • When in an SB or ScanLoop, you can click on the edit menu and select all scans in to multi-select all scans.
  • Information tab
    • "Find LST Start Range" button will help users determine the LST start range of the SB by defining a minimum and maximum elevation. The LST finder will also suggest an antenna wrap for a given LST start range. However, it is up to the user to set the antenna wrap on the first few scans and double check the SB in the Static Report and the Dynamic LST Validation tabs.
    • Earliest/Latest UT date calendar no longer crashes.
  • Static Report tab
    • All scan flags should now appear in the modifiers column in the static report table.
    • Tipping scans now have a "source name", e.g., Az165.0Up (note, this is not a source). This tells you the direction and starting azimuth of the tip.
  • Dynamic LST Validation tab
    • We have improved the antenna wrap check (it is no longer experimental). The new Antenna Wrap Evaluator will suggest a potential wrap for the selected LST ranges. You will need to double check to make sure this wrap is correct. Another result is you may need to split your LST range to account for wraps, i.e., rising and setting of sources.
    • Added a button to allow the user to grab the minimum and maximum elevations set on the Information tab (10d and 80d are the defaults).
    • Setup Scan Evaluator will display a warning when an attenuator setup scan (for 8-bit and 3-bit) or requantizer setup scan (for 3-bit) are missing or too short.
    • Flux Calibrator Evaluator displays a warning if a resource does not have a scan with calibrate flux intent selected.
    • Bandpass Calibrator Evaluator displays a warning if a resource does not have a scan with calibrate bandpass intent selected.
  • Bulk Scan Edit tab
    • We have introduced the ability to bulk edit scans that do not contain a source or resource. This will allow a user to bulk import re/sources to multiple newly created scans.

SCT

  • Epoch B1950 has been disabled for all sources currently not using B1950 and any new sources. Only epoch J2000 should be used.
  • Added the ability to save and/or download search results.

RCT

  • Resource comments in the catalog view are now editable.
