VLBA + 3 VLA Dishes (Y3)

Similar to VLBA+Y1, users can add three independent VLA antennas. This adds three ~50 km baselines (PT-VLA), and three ~30 km baselines (the ends of the VLA in A-configuration). VLBA+Y3 option is currently limited to times when the VLA is in A-configuration or moving between A and D configurations. The maximum data rate on the VLA antennas is 2 Gbps. The NSF National Radio Astronomy Observatory and NSF Green Bank Observatory are facilities of the U.S. National Science Foundation operated under cooperative agreement by Associated Universities, Inc.

Observing time on NSF NRAO telescopes is available on a competitive basis to qualified scientists after evaluation of research proposals on the basis of scientific merit, the capability of the instruments to do the work, and the availability of the telescope during the requested time.
