Science Program 2010B

Science Program 2010B

The approved EVLA, GBT, and VLBA/High Sensitivity Array (HSA) observing programs for NRAO Trimester 2010-B are given below. For each approved program, we list: (a) Principal Investigator (PI), (b) proposal title, (c) total hours allocated for the program, and (d) proposal type (Regular or Large). Additional information is available via the Proposal Finder Tool. Time allocated to Large Proposals and monitoring projects may extend over more than one trimester.

Expanded Very Large Array (EVLA)

To maximize early EVLA science while simultaneously commissioning the hardware and introducing new capabilities, three separate programs were created. The Open Shared Risk Observing (OSRO) program provides first-light EVLA capabilities to the general user community; the Resident Shared Risk Observing (RSRO) provides access to enhanced EVLA capabilities to those who are able to spend a period of time in Socorro to help with commissioning; and a modest (<500 hrs/year) EVLA Commissioning Staff Observing (ECSO) program provides access to commissioning staff to push new science capabilities.

Of the 62 approved OSRO proposals, only those that have dynamic priorities of E0 through to E3 are listed below. Given typical summer weather conditions and the expected demand for telescope commissioning time (especially near 10-12 hours LST), we anticipate that projects with lower priorities may experience difficulties being fully scheduled on the telescope, though this is only an estimate. We encourage users to view the EVLA LST pressure plots as they prepare to submit observing files.
